There are many elders who have disabilities of walking in Sri Lanka. Most of them are also struggling with financial difficulties other than their diseases. Those elders are bed-ridden for a longer period, so that they are not in a condition of seeing the world outside the walls of their rooms. This situation leads them to suffer from various physical and mental illnesses. If we can support them and make them walk again or assist them to move, that would be a great consolation for them. Therefore, we decided to do our project in an elder’s home with disabled patients, where there is a shortage of wheelchairs.
